BRYAN SCARY AND THE SHREDDING TEARS - flight of the knife
RACONTEURS - consolers of the lonely
BLACK MOUNTAIN - in the future
FLEET FOXES - fleet foxes

I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

BLACK MOTH SUPER RAINBOW - bonus drippers (free mp3 release - EP coming!)

Runner up: BECK - modern guilt (not as good as I hoped, but better than none)

What is this iron and wine album of which you speak? It is not listed on amazon...

Some serious music is going to have to come out to dethrone 5ive's "Hesperus" as the best album of this year.

Thanks en480c4 for Kira Lynn Cain.
Kind of obscure, I had to go to her myspace to get samples and it sounded great so I ordered it from Amazon.

My favorites so far:

NIN - The Slip

It's not as good as Year Zero, but still much better than most music released nowadays. I haven't listened to Ghosts much, but from what I can tell, it doesn't give the "album feel".

Jesu/Envy - split EP

While the Jesu-tracks were a mild dissappointment, envy (as a totally new band for me) was definately a great find.

Sigur Rós - Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust

The album seems to mix newer pop-style and the old ambient-style with great success. Definately an improvement in style from their previous effort 'Takk' (which was very good too).

Coldplay - Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends

Great production and songwriting. This is what pop-albums should be like.

Opeth - Watershed

An amazing album, as expected, but at times it feels that something is missing. Could be the line-up changes...
