I've felt like I've been wowed before with a few other cans. Recently purchased the Quad Era-1, and that wow factor definitely went up a few notches. My favorite headphone thus far.

Good headphones, good choice.

Ultrasone Edition 8.
They are incredible. The low end tight bass, incredible highs, incredible imaging.
To my ears, they are my favorite. Absolutely give me that wow effect.
I completely agree. I bought some used a few months back, and they are simply superb. The combination of spatial imaging, articulation, detail, and bass thump is ridiculous. These headphones are like a massage for my tired ear drums.

So, the Edition 8 is not the typical "Hot" Treble and over emphasized low end and total "V" shape, you find with most Ultrasone's?
Really?

For me, for a very very short duration the nuraphone, it produced this intense bass that made me jump.
Anyways i have a th900 mk2 coming, i am glad i made the right choice after researching peoples opinions about it, here and else where, because for me bass and sub bass is fundamental for me to enjoy music.

The HE 500 was my religious headphone experience. If it had not been for the massive weight I would still be using them all these many years later. They had a wonderful tonal quality and ability to throw a massive soundstage I have never been able to duplicate with any headphones and I have owned MANY. I guess I have spent all these years searching to replicate the HE 500 in a lighter headphone that would lower my medical bills. God that headphone was heavy but the sound....oh that sound. I'm still searching.

A close second would be the DT-48 for the pure upfront detail.

My modded akg k52 headphones. Driver swap and detachable cable and new earpads. Sounds awesome! All running off of a fiio m5!
I had AKG K712 Pro and Hifiman Ananda, both good but not wow.
Is Focal Clear wow?
Or would it be more wow UM MEST?

My journey started with a Stax 007 Mk1 and lead me to 20 other electrostatic headphones.
