I use it on W1 only for DSD playing but not for oversampling of any kind.

Just for proof of concept - that DSD playing works. Otherwise I am _currently_ using VLC.

You mean like MAX? Just checking. It, for sure, does not need an external amp, but why not?

Right ? And I have settled for a lot smaller and lighter as a line out ! Max is still smaller than W1 though

Yes, it is now dual boot with grub. I didn't tweak much yet, so the standart Gnome with Ubuntu twist. Today was for making the WIFI work and installing on the internal storage. Also installed the low latency kernel. Other than that I can run applications via ssh / X forwarding from my PC, so I see the user interface of the player application on my PC desktop. I should make a video of all this.

Just for having some fun.

By the way, I noticed that, if I don't turn the sound module on (yes, it has an external switch to turn on and off), the device does not get warm. The heat seems to be mainly due to the amplifier circuit - I guess class-A.
