XLR Interconnects

I have an unusual question. I own a pair of xlr interconnect cables I really like. The left/black cable is damaged. The company sells a single xlr cable of the same type and length that they color code "red". It's exactly like the pair of the xlr pair. Could I buy the single xlr cable and par it with the "red" cable from the pair set? Or are the red/right and black/left cables wired differently to be connected to the device right/left connectors? Thanks!

Should work just fine. Red/blue color indicators dont mean anything other than user simplicity. Right and Left cables cant be swapped without any issues.
