Does anyone know of any portable amp that supports XLR in, out, or both?

To support XLR is to support balanced input/output. That's a bit too much to ask for a portable amp, not to mention that the jack and the plug themselves already make the whole thing unportable.

Yeah, never seen a portable amplifier with XLR input/output.
You either have to go desktop amplifier or resort to TRS jacks.

I think you've been reading too much into your other threads asking about the best connector type. No DAP (iPod etc) exists with a balanced output anyway, as there would be no point.

You could build one, but that would be downright silly.

If it sounded like you have an application involving XLR I'd say build one, but I work extensively with XLR doing live sound and never needed XLR for that purpose.

Although he may be considering a balanced recable for a home system, but doesn't want to be unable to use his beloved 'phones around the town. If that were the case I'd think DIY is the only option.

And remember, portable is a relative term.
