The tips included are the weak link here. And to think that due to price, there is a chance they will be many members first IEM. They just need different tips to be at their best. Some new folks also don't get the fit with the stock tips, but don't know the real reason, thinking the Pistons just don't fit because they are not long enough. They can actually fall out with stock tips if the user has large ear holes. The added of a quality tip makes the IEM great.

Ok.. so out of all the cheap budget iems/buds i have bought recently. These things are ridiculous for the price. In some ways i enjoy them more than my GR07. Getting pumped with some electro/dance, they are awesome! No doubt people have shared the same experience as myself. Such a good stocking stuffer or birthday buy.

They are a gift!

Just an enjoyable gift.

I want to order another earphone for backup, what you guys think about Piston 3 durability? I saw comments where people had 2 or 3 dead units already.

Hybrid duals have better durability? Or should i pick a cheap Piston Youth and call it a day, as they sound the same as P3 based on some reviewers.

1. No, the P3s are slightly more solid. The housing strain relief and Y-split on the Hybrids are made of a tough rubber, which is okay, but will be more likely to wear out over time.

2. That's a decent option if you want to spend less money, so up to you, really.

I am surprised beyond belief as to durability. My Pistons look like 1950 coins with millions of small scratches. They have been knocked around in my pocket for 6 months with out fail. They are strong as heck!

Note:
Top driver 6 months old
Lower new out of box

I would like to give some impressions after going though a few pairs of Piston earphones (2s, 3s, and Pros).  After being disappointed with the Pros, GearBest gave me store credit that I used to buy a new pair of 3s.  They have two differences compared to my older 3s.  The inline controller has bumps/ridges between the buttons instead of a bump on the middle button (the Pros have the same bumps/ridges).  And the highs in my new 3s are much louder and clearer (but still not as loud and clear as the Pros). I'll try modding my older 3s to see if I can get the highs to match my new 3s.  I'm not sure if this revision to the 3s actually changed the drivers or filters or just updated the controller buttons.

Stumbled upon these: http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Original-Xiaomi-Piston-III-Dazzle-Edition-Earphones-With-Mellow-Bass-Remote-Mic-For-Android-iOS---Black-355067.html

They are extremely cheap and thus I have my doubts that they might be fake. Does anyone have experience buy off this seller?

It's a dazzle (starter) edition, they're around that price, the real piston 3's have nothing but Piston 3 in their name, and cost around 12$!

I have been using the Piston IIIs for a month now, and although I find them to be very good and have great sound quality when paired with my iphone or laptop; I also find the bass is lacking.

I continue to use them but I'm also searching for another pair of sub £15 earphones with a bit more bass,

There are some 1More : http://de.aliexpress.com/item/2015-Original-1More-XiaoMi-Piston-Earphone-1More-In-Ear-Headphones-3-5mm-Bass-Metal-Earphone-For/32345891725.html?isOrigTitle=true

They are labelled as super bass does anyone have any info on these?

Thanks.
