xDuoo has released a power supply specifically made for the XD05Pro. It comes with a fan to cool the unit as well.

Lol I was plugging directly to the PC and it works and thought it was the power.
I've also tried using an adapter but 9V only and it doesn't work.
Now I am using 12V and it works perfectly fine. Crazy.
Imo they should put the troubleshoot of this "protect" warning somewhere in the manual or on their webpage...
Edit: Still showing "protect" with 12V adapter after switching the gain...
So much problems with the dac... might as well just sell it...

Without the software it won't even be detected at all, which I honestly think is another cons for the dac/amp

Furthermore, it’s not even a linear power supply. Still switching power supply with more filtering.

with another brick connecting to it, I feel that there is no point in choosing this as oppose to other linear power supply.

I am suspecting that switching to my Sparkos Op Amps is what caused it. I did not use risers and they seemed to fit. But it may have been causing pressure on a resistor. I noticed the same with this new unit. Except this one immediately was erroring out. After trouble shooting it for a while I added a riser to one of the Sparkos so that it clears the resistor better and boom. Worked fine. Also seems to run cooler.

First test. Ananda Nano.

Powers these with ease and truly a wonderful pairing. I love the Nano but with some amps and dacs, the treble can bite. But I can easily say this is a beautiful pairing after 3 minutes of listening. Gobs of details and I mean heaps. The stage is large and separation is superb. Dynamics is what struck me at first though, this pairing really slams and makes for a highly crystal clear yet extremely engaging and fun listen. It's still early. But first impressions. Damn!!!! And this isn't even with the Sparkos... Like Xduoo, WTH..... This is sounding better than my SMSL SU9Pro+ SH9 + Ampapa A1 tube pre amp with Mullard CV4010 6AK5W tubes. It's not my highest end set up. But still, a pretty nice sounding set up. Easily, this is topping it. That slam

Plus awesome bonus. I can lay down in bed or sit down instead of being stuck on my table set up . So extra comfort???? Hahah. But damn, the staging the Xduoo can do is making me trip out. Impressive stuff

ESS module without hardware mod sounds like chainsaw in treble for me personally. Someone said that Sparkos Opamps make that sound warmer.
Strongly recommend to get AK4499EX DAC module - In my personal opinion it is the best for now.
