Most of the time I use this glasses hard case. (when I carry it in my backpack with other thing that could damage it) The X3 fits in perfecly
Or I use a noname smartphone pouch bought for my Lenovo A660 (It's a 4" phone, but any soft pouch for 3,5-4 should be fine, something like this  )

I'm quite ambiguous about these dedicated sleeves. They look awesome but then again they cover the also-awesome appearance of the device itself... But is this sleeve already in the market?

well, the dimensions the one you linked are: Size: 115*62*36mm
The holder I linked (and use): Dimension: 19(L) x 7.5(W) x 6(H)cm
So mine is bigger, and as I wrote the X3 fits in perfectly. (Because of the length of the DAP is 115mm maybe there would be some problems with the case you linked)
Ofcourse I dont wanna agruee on this I just wanted to share my own experience

ok, I understand. As you can see in the pictures it's a perfect fit. The pouch is meant for sunglasses I guess but I think those might have a hard time to fit in my pouch.
PS: in this picture, the pouch contains the X3

Well, don't be sorry, it's because of me providing both info on hard case and soft sleeve which caused the mix-up .
 
Soft sleeve I have and works fine with me.
Hard case I just came across but don't own; as you mention I also saw the dimensions which does or doesn't provide enough space to fit since it has rounded edges.

A suitable velvet pouch for $0.99
(I like to sponsor the Chinese).

The screen protector is quite inferior though. Scratched it badly just by very carefully applying it with a plastic credit card. Old skool screen protector of the worst kind ...
