This is what Hadphones.com said about their customer service situation.
"I believe currently iFi might be going through a bit of a transitionary phase with their support so we apologize for any delays so far. I would say possibly two ways forward is waiting on a reply from iFi. Have a friend that recently had to send more than a few emails to get a replacement USB board for his DAC.

The second possible option is to possibly just to purchase some similar interconnect cables on the aftermarket while you await a reply from iFi on the cables. The Lightning to USB C cables are probably least readily available but the C to C and A to C cables are quite available on Amazon I saw."

Incidentally, nobody seems to rep Ifi on Head Fi anymore. Sebastian is gone.

We're still here as per usual and daily pretty much, no worries! If you didn't get any reply from our support, please send me your ticket number via PM so I can see in our system where it's at. Sounds good :) ?

Hi I would like to make a question I have gryphon and because I have a headphone with 3.5 termination I want to use the 4.4 balanced output via the iFi Audio 3.5mm to 4.4 Pentaconn Headphone Adapter in order to have more power. Is this possible or I will damage the gryphon? I understand that I will not have a truly balanced outcome but would I have more power. The headphones are the Neumann NDH30 and I tried them through the 3.5 unbalanced output and for my taste I need more power.

Many thanks

If you use a balanced at the amp to unbalanced at the headphone you are effectively shorting the grounds internally on the amp and can cause serious damage.
Please do not do this with any amplifier.

pheeewww~~

Finally finished going thru all 172pgs.
Received this bad boy today and ...... loving it. Build quality is top notch and i like the size and feel in my hand. And happy to report there's zero wobble or movement with regard to physical buttons. Both driver and firmware updates went without a hitch and no volume issues on Android or windows 11 so far.

I'm traveling to Irvine next week for 10 days to visit family and of course attend CANJAM while at it, :dt880smile: and I used traveling as an excuse to get this portable setup. I initially ordered the Topping G5, but there's some type of delay with shipping and so I purchased this as a backup. And boy am I glad I did. I will definitely keep this. Still playing with the filters, but STD appears to be the cleanest one. GTO, not so sure at the moment. Still experimenting though along with xbass/space which is new for me.

Oh and the miter case is well made too with snug fit.

Thanks for the reply. Then why iFi made this product (Ifi Audio 3.5mm female to 4.4 Pentaconn male Headphone Adapter)?
There is a balanced 3.5mm connector but it's rarely ever used on headphones.

Edit: looked up their connections, that is one of the few specialized adapters that make what you are trying to do possible.

iFi doesn't explain how this adapter works, except to say that the negatives aren't connected to ground. I would never plug it in to any of my devices without additional information. I suppose that the two negatives from the amps could be left floating (unconnected) and then connect the single-ended headphone common to ground. If that's the case, you would not get any extra power from the differential signal (assuming it works at all and doesn't fry things...).
