xDSD Gryphon: birth of a ‘head-fi’ legend

Can I get a headcount for folks who would like this option? It would give me a good gauge for the demand. Thanks!
I think it’s always beneficial to offer this option, and if I’m not mistaken the ZS is the only device in your product line that doesn’t offer a range of firmware versions, because they’re not downloadable from your support website…

Just got the Gryphon and updated it to 1.45. However, I preferred the volume in dB compared to an arbitrary value shown in the latest firmware. Is there a way to switch the volume display?

As Sebastien is asking for opinion, I would say that I am one that is happy with the change to 1-100 (106 max).

So -1 on dB ‘vote’ 😄

This may be another dumb question, but isn't the dB figure arbitrary as well since the actual volume you get in your ear would be dependent on how sensitive your earphones/headphones are?

It is not arbitrary because the dB expresses the ratio between two values: an increase in volume of 1 dB will always be the same, regardless of the sensitivity of the connected IEMs.
The situation is different for the sound pressure level (dB SPL) which, with the same volume setting, changes according to the sensitivity of the transducer.

+1 for volume in dB.
Yeah, why not! Count me in. At least I have 1 device that shows volume in dB
+1 for this option, and additional 85, 90 max volume stops
+ 6472 On that !!!
Absolutely bring back volume in dB, please :beerchug:
+1 on getting a choice between dB and numerical volume levels. Should be easy enough to implement in FW. Then everyone is happy.
+1 from me. The best should be the ability to switch between db and a numerical value

Thanks for the feedback y'all! I will ask if this possible and reference this.

I love the Gryphon. From the build quality (tight volume knob control, multi colored LED lights) to the sound quality.
I'm using it as a desktop audio replacement and for portability from pairing the Gryphon to NAD C658 w/ APTX HD support to circumvent AAC on iOS, and also LDAC on my secondary phone (Pixel 5, set to 900kbps @ 24 bit / 96khz in developer options)
I mainly pair the gryphon to a 13 pro, but I like the pairing of the OG iPhone SE to the Gryphon due to its comparable size
For headphones, pairing the Gryphon to the 7Hz Timeless and also the HIFIMAN XS.
Using a DDHiFi Lightning to USB-C short cable.
Using MMCX cable FiiO LC-RC. Not sure what the deal was with the stock Timeless cable but it sounded much better after using the aftermarket cable.

Does anyone get this issue with the volume display on the Gryphon? I change the setting that allows the Gryphon to charge through the USB connection with the PC, change the volume to 70, and after a while, it shows 7N. Everything is working fine though, when I change to another volume level, the number display correctly

In the new firmware, what does "volume soft ramp" do?

All I could find by Googling is that no one knows what it does. Lol
