Regarding the pops, clicks and other issues caused by MQA as well as playlists with MQA mixed with PCM on Tidal.

Tidal are still slipping a bit of MQA out under the guise of PCM and the Gryphon and other DAC can show that.

Depending on the source the Gryphon will flash MQA for a moment and the display will then change to PCM or it will show MQA permanently. I assume it depends on how well Tidal's code have managed to fool the operating system managing the files.

Yes the clicks and pops are 99% solved but due to the skullduggery used by Tidal to disguise a few straggler MQA files as PCM it isn't completely 100% sorted.

For clarification, no I am not anti MQA, I couldn't care less, I am anti the annoying pops and clicks and other issues that MQA and mixed file types create on Tidal and with what appears to be some level of dishonesty on the part of Tidal in respect of the clean out of MQA.

Hi guys, I wanted to ask the experts if I can connect the ghyphone with the balanced Line 4.4 output to the rear 4.4 input of the iFi ZEN CAN Signature HFM, to listen with arya headphones, what benefit can I have in terms of amplification and sound quality?

The CAN is a dedicated amp so it should be able to drive the Aryas better than the Gryphon. Benefits are hard to foresee, it's best to test it for yourself - I've added the PB5 and the results were mixed.

Thank you for your reply, I have seen that the zen can signature hfm is often connected together with the zen dac V2, so in my configuration I should replace the latter with the ghyphone, unfortunately I am not yet in possession of the two devices but only of the ghyphone, I was wondering about a future purchase

Correct.

The most logical set up with the gear you mention would be the Gryphon as the DAC using the balanced 4.4mm line out into the Zen Can HFM using the 4.4mm input.

That said, the Gryphon may do a very fine job with the Arya without the need for the Zen Can.

I don’t have the Arya but I have a set of Dan Clark Aeon Noire which are similar specifications in terms of resistance and sensitivity and the Gryphon works fine with them. A 4.4mm terminated cable would be worthwhile to get the best out of the Gryphon.

Hi everyone, I bought a Gryphon from a friend, who got it 3 years ago from a dealer in Asia (business trip)
today I updated it to the latest firmware, when it was finished it turned off and it doesn't turn on anymore, if I hold down the power button the logp appears ifi the LEDs turn on and it turns off, if I connect the power it continues to turn off and you will turn on continuously I tried to reset with the xbass+power button but nothing, it keeps flashing on and off
Ifi support asks me for the purchase date but how can they remember it, it's already out of warranty! It seems like a software problem

Is it recognised on your computer like when you updated the firmware, even if you had to hold the power button down the whole time ?

I wonder if your install had a glitch.

Perhaps do a fresh firmware download and reinstall if the Gryphon is seen by your computer.
unfortunately it recognizes it, but by turning it off and on it connects and disconnects immediately! Before the update everything was ok, I listened to it for a few hours

You might try this, it might just work for the moment the Gryphon powers on ??

Unfortunately I tried this too...I'm waiting for the battery to run down and let's see...what a big disappointment
Sh1t can happen, that's why there's warranty
