Regarding the pops, clicks and other issues caused by MQA as well as playlists with MQA mixed with PCM on Tidal.
Tidal are still slipping a bit of MQA out under the guise of PCM and the Gryphon and other DAC can show that.
Depending on the source the Gryphon will flash MQA for a moment and the display will then change to PCM or it will show MQA permanently. I assume it depends on how well Tidal's code have managed to fool the operating system managing the files.
Yes the clicks and pops are 99% solved but due to the skullduggery used by Tidal to disguise a few straggler MQA files as PCM it isn't completely 100% sorted.
For clarification, no I am not anti MQA, I couldn't care less, I am anti the annoying pops and clicks and other issues that MQA and mixed file types create on Tidal and with what appears to be some level of dishonesty on the part of Tidal in respect of the clean out of MQA.
