XCD-88 *exactly* the same as MMF CD-25?

Actually, the Onix has OPA2604s. I have verified this personally.

The Shanling CD-S100 on which it is based, however, does use OPA2134s. Mark Schifter said he chose to change them because he liked the sound of the 2604s more.

BradJudy is correct. The Onix XCD-88 has OPA2604APs.

I believe there is an appreciable difference when using the OPA627 op amps - that is why I modded my player, replacing the stock 2604 with 627APs. I believe there is no appreciable difference, other than cost, between the OPA627APs and the OPA627BPs.
