I had a premium that I never had a problem with for about a year...then it froze a few times so I took it back to costco and upgraded to an elite...no problems at all since.

Supposedly they are. Like I said, it's not just about the CPU, but also about the design and layout of the machine. The original cooling of the GPU was foolish by design and had minimal airflow. The new heatsinks are a patchjob to leach off the cooling provided to the CPU. In theory the next design/motherboard should fix these problems properly.

I just missed a great deal for a Premium for $280+ shipping (not refurb but not sure if it had HDMI)

If anyone knows of a good deal on Prem or Elite please let me know.
