You may need to stop/exit and restart your music player for the new choice to take effect. On the other hand, your music player may be configured to specifically look for the computer's headphone out rather than the "default audio device", in which case you might need to change the player's settings instead.

I was having this issue with my X1, and I changed the USB cord I was using. I guess I wasn't using the one that came with my X1. Just a suggestion.
