are you aware of any firmware update for X3 1st gen? 
The latest one is 3.34 since november 2014... is 1st gen already discontinued on behalf of 2nd gen?
Come on Fiio... keep your promises, don't kill 1st gen!!!

This firmware has actually been available for about 5 months less that what you will think. The first thread post just kept getting updated every time there was a new beta firmware out. The thread title also got renamed to the name of the latest firmware each time from what I remember. The time 3.34 was first available was sometime in the middle of February this year. 
 
If you read every page in that thread, it may make more sense. It isn't worth it though

 
It does look like the date hasn't been updated though. If you look at the first few posts below, some of them mention the firmware 3.21 which is probably what was the most up to date firmware on that date. That was a very long time ago though and it was getting on for half a year later before 3.34  was available.
