does it mean that the both hop-dac 2 and zen dac v2 generally provide the same quality of the sound?

That's correct, yes. The choice between them thus should narrow down to what you need either a portable product or its desktop equivalent.

Is it true that I can not expect from the both a possibility to to drive the 300 ohm headphones and extract full potential of such head-phones ?

Both hip-dac 2 and ZEN DAC V2 will make i.e. Sennheisers HD 600 really loud, but to get the best out of these cans you'd still need a separate headphone amp. Here it's worth noting that impedance of headphones factors in, but so does their sensitivity.

Hope this helps, thanks!

I just want to mention that (in my case) the HD 540 RG can be an end game
How is that possible for such cheap headphones
They show how good your system is
You need a selected 10K investment to get their full potential
They scale with every and the smallest change in the system
The good fact is that you will enjoy them on this upgrade path
They remain a favorite among other high-end headphones

Unfortunately I don’t know how the HD 600 sounds, but I had the HD 700, and they are inferior
For my ears

Can you elaborate a bit about their differences? HD 700 never was exactly a popular model, but last time I checked it was a OK product :)

The HD 540 is richer in frequency spectrum, which contributes to a more realistic experience. It has far better layering and a larger stage.
By memory
Both were listened to on the Marantz HD DAC 1
And yes of course they are good headphones(HD 700), but I sold them because I didn't see the point in keeping them next to HE 560

I may compare it to other open headphones that I have : Grado sr225 , Akg k712 and Sennheiser hd600 . Although all of these models sounds great (personally I use grado for singing and AKG to nylon string guitar ) , when I listen music to HD540 I have an impression that it’s not recording due to the widest soundstage and great stereo panorama ( it’s called imaging, isn’t ??) . Hd600 might sounds similarly , but the soundstage was significantly narrower. I also repeat that I’ve never had amplifier :) I used either zte axon 7 or directly with the Yamaha mixing board :)

Of course, I'm going beyond your mobility preferences now, but with your budget, you would get the most out of HD 540 by buying a vintage stereo receiver and listening to the radio.
I only mentioned this in terms of invested and obtained quality
By the way, they are all good headphones

Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone heard the zmf verites.
Officially they have great timbre and I was wondering how they compare to the 540
I'm also interested
While I was considering upgrading for the HD540RG I most often looked in that direction.
They are certainly faster and more dynamic, but how do they use these "advantages", whether they give a "popular" sound or are tuned to get closer to reality
I still have them on my radar
