I have the ability to buy a 50" spool of this cable Monster Cable - 50' Mini-Spool Speaker Wire - XPMS-50 for a good price. I wanted to know if it would be acceptable to use to make some cables out of.

Mostly for a mini to mini interconnect.

its actually a cable? at first glance I thought it was just speaker wire. Are you going to braid it? The reviews all raved it...

It's just wire so you will have to braid it and such if you want to make interconnects.
Basically, if it is just speaker wire as advertised, you'll have to cut strands of equal length, then braid and terminate.

It's probably too thick to make IC's with if it's speaker cable.
