World's first portable Hybrid Valve Headphone Amplifier (with a footprint smaller than most cellphones).

No plans for mic input and too far down the track to change now. The unit is fully encased - so tubes are visible but enclosed in the housing

Mic won't work (other amps I've owned are similar) - but I can check re sound once I get the prototype back.

That's a really good question.  What is their sensitivity?  I'm hoping to have the updated prototype back with me next week - and then I can run some more specific tests.

What will I expect to pay for a low impedance, low output IEM version with volume control, in black, delivered to Shanghai?

KS price is NZD 179 for a single, or $299 for two.

So that's USD 135 for one, and 112 each if you buy two.

I'm not sure about the freight side of things.  I'll check.

USD135?

Please reserve one for me. IEM version, i.e. low gain, low impedance, quiet as the grave (or as the vacuum of space)...

I originally bought the TU-HP01 for this purpose, and was greeted with HISSSSSSSSS!

One other great thing about this amp: it should stack nicely with my HM-601LE...

You can't reserve it - you have to commit on KS.  Go to the website (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/970055861/hybrid-valve-headphone-amplifier), click to commit to the reward you want (you'll have to join) - and if it's successfully funded in another 12 days, the money is deducted from your account, and it's delivered sometime in July.

I checked with Martin - and the freight cost is $18 NZD (about USD 14.00) delivered world-wide.

They're now at 87% funding with 12 days to go - so it'll definitely reach its funding goal :)

I want to back this on Kickstarter. How can I make sure I get a low impedance model with volume control? There don't seem to be any options available...

There is now only going to eb one model, switchable gain, and with a volume pot.  If he does do a low and high impedance (separate) - you'll choose just before he ships.  Don't worry about it - the process is pretty easy.

Backed!

Thanks.

Yep - that's what I was after. When I get it back, if it drives my HD600, it should also handle yours ok.
