I'd like a picture of the internals of the new version. Does anyone have one they can share?

For me it was the inconsistency of the SQ. Even after warming up the WA33 for 20 minutes the Sq was shouty and thin. It was not until the amp had been on for an hour did the quality of sound approach what everybody was claiming. Then the next album would start out thin and take several tracks to sort itself out. The next to last day I played one of my reference albums(Steely Dan-Two Against Nature) and had the best experience I have ever had with headphones. The next day I let the WA33 warm up for 30 minutes and played it again because I wanted to experience that feeling again and what I got was a shouty tinny mess. I really wanted this thing to work but my heavily EQ'd LCD-5 was superior. I felt the same way about it when I used the WA33 as preamp to my Lau.

Again I do not know if it was the WA33, Rossini Apex, the tube combo or a combination thereof but the whole thing just did not sing. A couple of people in one of the Immanis threads felt that Rossini Apex was incompatible with the Imannis.

Cavalli Liquid Gold
That was surprising to see the Cavalli Liquid Gold on your list there, there aren't too many of them still around or at least being listed.

Do you still use it at all? What headphones so you pair with it?

And how do you find it sounds compared to the WA33?

I use the WA33 90-95% of the time. When I do use the Lau I usually use the Caldera Open. I find the WA33's sound to be fuller and more impactful than the Lau. I am the original owner so a certain amount of nostalgia is in play though the sound of the Lau is very very good.

Thanks for replying. I have a 2015 LAu from the last run, also a lot to do with keeping it is the nostalgia. It's a great amp, but I always wonder how the "best of the first generation" compares to big amps from now. I don't have any new ones, I've been too busy for a few years now, but hoping to get back on the horse. Haha, I group the LAu in with everything from ~2005-2018, what I see as the foundational years of the hobby that has been in overdrive since like 2015/2018, and leading to all the amazing gear, headphones, and services we have now.

My Lau is also from the last run which further reinforces the nostalgia. At my age (72) I have reached my endgame for amp and dac. I have spent too much to go anywhere else. I may spend some more on headphones(LCD-6) but I am done otherwise.

I’m done, wa33 elite is it. Just wow every listen. Just to clarify I’m jiggy with my woo. The previous post was auto corrected and no I’m not jiggly.

"Jiggy" is a slang term that has multiple meanings. It can refer to being excited, energetic, and having fun, especially when dancing or performing. It can also describe someone who is attractive or stylish. In the context of music, "jiggy" can mean good or cool. Additionally, "jiggy" can also be used to describe a jig-like movement or dance. Finally, "jiggy" is also the name of a brand of artistic jigsaw puzzles

Thought about it for a while, decided to go for it. Put down a deposit for the WA33 Gen 2 EE JPS.

Well that is nothing short of amazing. Are you gonna use your original WA33 as credit with Woo Audio or sell it off independently?
Or are you gonna send in your original WA33 to Woo for them to modify it?

Cheers man. You can be sure I’ll be asking you about the differences between the two once the appropriate time comes. 👍🤝

I'm sending in my WA33 as credit. They will not upgrade Standard editions to EE/JPS, so it will be a brand new build. The presentation of the Standard is enthralling with the layering, imaging and especially depth. I'm very excited for Gen2 as it seems to be improving this across the board, let alone what the EE/JPS upgrades add.
