Woo's New Flagship WA33

Someone needs to do a review/shootout between WA33 vs WA24 vs WA234 monos. Maybe Woo can some out on a loan tour?
Imagine a european review Tour, since no EU dealer is allowed to list them, it's so hard to Audition Woo products

Not sure why, but they’re well available in Poland. Many dealers have wa23 and wa33 on hand and it is present in the yearly Warsaw Audio Show, not sure whether wa24 will be there already

But yeah, all their products are officially listed on the dealers’ website

Just plugged the Psvane ACME 2A3s. Definite upgrade over the stock Electro Harmonix 2A3. More refined sounding, neutral with more resolution especially in the lower frequencies.

Does it sound fuller with the ACME's?
Also, if I could trouble you to throw an update in a few weeks when the tubes are broken in, I'd appreciate it!
looking to upgrade the tubes on my wa33 elite and looking for input on which ones I should go for

Definitely not fuller. They are silkier/ethereal. They don't really put any emphasis on any frequencies. I can see why people would call these boring or dry. They are neutral sounding to me. I would not pair these with Neutral/Bright HPs. Warm HPs like the Utopia 22 or Audezes, these would work well.

I will give another update in two to three weeks.

I'm running the KR Audio 2A3 HP power tubes in my WA33 SE - those who are running these tubes, as well as a KR rectifier, which rectifier are you using, the RK50 Anniversary Edition 5U4G - 5U4G - KR 274B HP or the KR 274B? I'm interested in the KR 274B HP due to reading it is known for its full impactful bass presence. For those who use, or have used all of the above, can you please explain their differences briefly? I do understand this is purely subjective, but would still like some input between these 3 KR rectifier tubes if possible before pulling the trigger

Thanks,
Joseph

I spoke with Jack Woo briefly at Can Jam Dallas. He said he's discontinuing the WA33 EE because the WA24 is better. He didn't have a 1266 TC on hand to try, but I remain very skeptical. I dunno if it's better, but I doubt it. I shoulda brought my TCs to try. I could only try the Diana's and Composer that he had on hand. It sounded good, I guess, but I don't like the Diana's. The Composer sounded real good though, at least for what it is. It's hard to evaluate an amp with headphones I don't like and don't own. I will say the WA24 runs very cool. I was very surprised by that. It's single-ended, which I don't know how I feel about. I really don't know if the WA24 is better and I am very skeptical. I just don't know. I think there is something else going on with the WA33 EE being discontinued. I mean it costs more, so why wouldn't he sell it? I think maybe it's a parts issue or a cost issue, but I'm just guessing. It seems strange he's discontinue it. I definitely won't be buying the WA24, cuz fukc woo, but maybe it's a good option for some people. I mean it costs less and is supposedly "better" than the EE. Plus there are less tubes, so even cheaper. I don't really trust Jack though. He's a little shady, and so are some of his business practices. I dunno, I just remain very, very skeptical. 🤷‍♂️

I remain skeptical with the move to WA24 as well. IMHO, it not more powerful than the WA23 more like inject WA33 sound to a WA23 chassis with a hint of classic DHT SET which is I guess better according to Jack Woo.

TLDR, WA24 is a blend of WA33 and WA23 sound. That was my impression at CanJam SoCal

Had this custom 1/4” acrylic dust cover made. (To be removed when amp is on) What do you think? 16” x 9.25” x 6” shopPOPdisplays for $141+shipping

You use it just for "storage" when it's off right?
Wouldn't it cause overheating issues during use?

"Better" most likely means "Better Profit Margin for Woo Audio", not "Better" for the customer.

Correct, the cover is only when not using.

Correct, only to use when amp is off and cooled off.
