I npight another set of the 417as. It sucks that you have to buy the adaptors too because they are "matched." If anybody needs a pair of Woo Audio 417a adapters (they are high quality), I can sell you them for a fair price. Just PM me

I'm going this route soon for my DNA Stratus and WA33. So expensive! 😭
Yeah, the WA33 is expensive to maintain. $3600 for some Tak 2A3s, $2300 for some 417as, $1250 for the Tak 274b. I got backups for everything now though, except the new 2A3s.

The Tak 2A3s are really good though. They don't really take anything away from the KRs, but they add some nice 3D effects.

how big a diff do they make wit the sound? looked a few hours ago avail now sold out.... .hhahahah... you have the adaptors for sale?
They do make a big enough difference where I wanted a backup pair. They add some bass, which I like. I already have a set of adaptors from the first time I bought them, so I don't need this 2nd set. I'm willing to sell the 2nd set of adapters once I get them. The tubes are what I wanted, as I fear my current set is long in the tooth.

Yep, I waited a whole 18 hours and the 417s sold out! Ugh!
I'm really surprised they only had like 1 set for sale it seems...

The 417as are hard to come by, but you might be able to find some on eBay over time. They are worth the time investment.

Yes, it's BS, in my opinion. I bought my original set of 417as off a a different site than Woo Audio, but bought the adapters with the much cheaper 5842s from Woo Audio. The adapters worked fine with my 417as. It sounds just like marketing material, but what do I know?

also... I am seeing used ones substantially cheaper... am I missing something? are they no good?
Probably not matched and may not have as long of a life span. I know with Woo you are likely to get high quality ones. But I picked up five 417as off ebay for like $300 a few months ago. No problems. It's worth the gamble
