Yeah, that's pretty weak. Seems to only check if the domain exists and maybe the Google Page Rank. I have about 7 domains and they average from 3.5k to 5k. The inactive ones are cheaper while the one I use and have linked through high ranking sites are more expensive.

Looks like a tool for SEO tards but that's about it.
