This one does. Some 300B amplifiers do not though. A lot of it depends on how beefy the power supply is and how good the transformers are.

If you can get to the meet, Jack will have the amp there. That's really
the only way you can be the judge. But I know Im going to have to get rid
of something I don't need on Audiogon so I can buy one of these!!

While I always dread the word best, I will say the WOO 5 is my favorite of all of the headphone amps I have heard in the last couple of years since I have been listening to headphones seriously!

You will have to decide if you like it as much as I do!! I'd say tingly pretty much nails it.

I spend 10 hours a day most days listening to a lot of different hifi gear, working on the magazine,
but I'm still up at almost 1:00 listening to the Woo. Must get sleep!!

It destroys them.

The EL84 and 6AS7 are only average sounding tubes, mind you. One shouldn't expect them to compare with a flashy direct-heated triode.

It depends upon how the tube is implemented but the 300B is a beautiful tube. I wonder how the mesh plates would sound.

What 6SN7's have been tried?

Yep Shungyang tubes. Not bad with the stock tubes, but a lot better with NOS and upgraded 300B's!

I wish I had a pair of K1000's to try with it! That is one of my all time favorite phones!!

Let me borrow the amp for a few weeks and I'll ship it back to you with one of my spare K1000s (to borrow)
