i find it amazing that you can encounter such problems with Toronto-to-Texas when i've had vacuum tubes ship problem-free across 2 oceans.

This is an odd occurance. I've made hundreds of cross border purchases without any problem at all. If the guy had packed them right, it wouldn't be an issue. I think he's demanding I spend 5 times the value of the original items to send the broken pieces back, simply to discourage me from asking for a replacement. Most e-bayers are great ... but there will always be a certain number of a-holes.

What should be done about all these "free" mentally ill people, I mean, after "we've" found them, its about treatment. It's a hard question to tackle. Maybe have a questionnare done that every single person should do?

free? I thought we were talking about people in prison.

so what. find work. my mom grew up in a family of 7 on welfare, there are ways to get by without stealing.

I do agree that religion gives a sense of goal and increased awareness in morals, but I do think that it will be the persons own choice whether or not to talk with a pastor.

I don't. They need to get cleaned up, for everyone's sake. It should be their choice to truly start embracing the ideals, but having to listen should be mandatory.

Some people get "grown" into lives they really don't want to.

Yeah, life is tough. Deal with it

Prisons may "break" them from this life, but I'm doubt it will always work. Especially people that are tangled into gangs that they return to after prison time.

Which is EXACTLY why they need to be changed whilst in prison. If you educate them and give them religion they really wouldn't want gang life anymore. Trust me i KNOW guys that grew up as gangbangers and they lead respectful jobs now. Policeman, therapists, etc.

New name is a good idea. New state is better. Opposite coast, i'd say. That way they are totally cut off from their old life and habits. I know this helped me tremendously in overcoming the self-imposed oppression of my soul.

Those that are "evil" are generally mentally ill or have become it through many reasons (abuse, being ignored, etc.)

Yeah right man.I was ignored or "abused' so I have the right to break the law
rolleyes.gif

I do not care what someones excuse is if they make a choice to do bad deeds.I just want them away from me and my family protected from them. You wonder why criminals laugh at folks ?
Because they KNOW how to play the game and claim those things as an "excuse" to do as they want with basic impunity.Like the female ebay scammer seems to do if her history is anything.

Quote:

What are required are people that are specialised in this issue, providing support and analysis which shows what is "needed" for the conversion. I think that this might become the future.

I think more prisons and longer punishment is the future unless we are willing to lock ourselves in our houses and use only the internet to interact. Some would like that having no life anyway........

Now, what if someone is robbing a store or stealing items because they need money to survive? Where should the line be drawn? Where will the money come from if your only income is from stealing?

more like because they can ! Why work if you can take and keep on taking while others make excuses for you ?

What if you are unable to read?

then i guess that person should have spent more time learning in school instead of trying to act 'cool" and be the joker all the time.School is free here and open to all. With very few exceptions it is a choice not to learn.

Mentally hadicapped ? Special EducationAalso free.
Too damn stupid to sit down and listen because it is not important ?
Then how come that person is smart enough to scam the unsuspecting hmmm ?
Can't have it both ways.To do an ebay scam you need both wits and a computer plus a place to plug the computer in,as in a place to live.Oh yeah, there is also the pay pal account or bank account or at the minimum a checking account to cash the scammed checks. Also goes to intent..

Dad is a drunk so steal to get ahead.Yup.That is why crime is rampant.Feel sorry for the one perpetrating the crime and not the victim until the tables are turned and it is those who finally get ripped off who scream the loudest "why was this person not in jail ! this is not his/her first crime and i should be protected !"

All about perspective and who gets screwed.A lot of things piss me off but I don't feel a need to go out my front door and mug the joggers going by for their ipods.

Then they need to wake the hell up and get a life.Sitting in your own misery saying poor me will get nothing.Getting up and DOING SOMETHING about your plight will ! Unfortunately that something for some is to steal becasue it is easy not neccessary.

Quote:

Give the people a chance to chose a new life with a new name?

yeah that will work ! Give them a new life with no history of crime so they can screw you with a clean slate .

"I never seen that coming guys.there was no history of this kind of behavour"

you know why they call it a "Criminal Record" ?

So there is a "record" of past misdeeds to go by when considering an action for a brand new misdeed. If all criminals could start new every time they got caught we would all be in some very serious trouble and i would carry a damn baseball bat just to walk to the mail box
tongue.gif

this woman is a thief and a con artist who chose to take from the unsuspecting rather than work for what she aquired materially. For that and considering past deeds she should spend enough time behind bars to comtemplate her present situation and decide if it is worth it.

Many do.They do not fear the justice system and they should because the innocent sure do fear the criminals......

And when I say executed I don't mean live off the taxpayers for 10 years and waste millions on appeals. Convicted, walked outside and a bullet put in their head.

You guys just took a thread about EBAY and scamming, and turned into a political, religious, right to life, need to read, and playing God (killing people for crimes) thread.

Let's go back to protecting ourselves from scammers on online selling sites.
That's a worthy subject that can be a good conversation to all, without having the thread locked.

Technically God wouldn't kill people, people kill people, but I digress.

URGENT!

Hey, I can't find the live help any more on ebay. Does anybody have a link? I need to talk to a ebay guy or gal ASAP! This is about fraud. There's a add which I have found out must be a scam. One has already bidden on it and I have been in contact with the seller. I need the live help so they can remove the ad ASAP and inform the guy who has already bidden.

Thanks,
Rasmus

edit: I found it. It 'live chat' and not 'live help'
