With too much useless information near the headphone semi-finals

I did some research and I got the Creative EP-630.

The portability is very important for me and I was not too happy with the clip factor of my old headphones (KSC75)
The sound was very good, no complains on that front but the design of clip headphones is so-so. It is not the manufacturers fault, it is just the way it is.
The headphones do not have a proper hold and they cannot stay close to the ear for long. Running is out of the question but even with quick walking you might need to adjust them often. Of course it could be the shape of my ears but I do not think so

With time, the lock will get a little loose and you will find your self rising the volume to 19/25 - 22/25 to compensate for the distance. Plus, the resistance is 60ohm.
Also since the headphone would not stay that close to the ear, noise canceling is basically 0 and you would also be entertaining people around you (depends on your/their music taste).
The grip can be improved with very light headphones so even a little force would be enough but for the moment I thought I am going to try the EPs.
Also there is the clip snapping out easily thing I mentioned above.
Once I receive them and use them a little I will post my impressions here or put them in headphonereviews.org and put the link.
I got the Ep-630 for ~$12 AR and GCO (including rebate stamps) at Buy.com
Be careful with the fakes around in ebay and other places!!

The KSC75s have great sound and I hope I will not miss them. (Distortion <0.2%, I don't think that the EP-630 would be able to beat that)

while waiting for the headphones to arrive I am missing already my KSC75.

I tried my girlfriends Spark Plugs for more than a few minutes (1 hour or so) and there is no comparison.
I hope I won't have to get another pair of headphones beside the ones that I am waiting.

Ok, I got the EP-630 and I started using them.
They are NOT bad, that is what I can say. I am using them at 13-16 volume level out of 25 and that is the max that I would recommend.
The problem? They are not KSC 75s.

I was moving the summer/winter clothes out of the storage and checking the pockets. To my surprise I found my lovely KSCs. I was a happy, life was good. After a couple of days of trying both I ended up giving the EP-630 to my girlfriend. After another week the KSCs that I found broke, (the cable of the right side got pulled too much so now only the left side works) .

The conclusion? I am getting another pair of KSC75s.

As somebody who has used them both I can write my impressions and I hope they will be useful to people in my previous situation.

The Good of EP-630
* they are small and they fit well in the ear
* compared to the Sparkplugs they are more comfortable and sound better
* noise canceling is really good, but I found out that it was not for me. It is good when you are home or in a plane but while walking or in the bus the sounds around are important because they let you know what's going on around you. It is like walking with eyes closed. There is a reason why it is illegal driving with headphones.

The bad
* They are heavy for their size and the cables are very very thin. I have the impression that I will need a new pair in no time.
* the bass sucks. if you increase the volume you will feel some pain but nothing compared to a real bass. It is like a short, dry and loud beat that will cover the rest of the sounds
* Compared to the KSC75 most of the background sounds are lost. The voice and the bass are somewhat clear but they cover the rest of the spectrum and I have the feeling that they are filtered.

With the KSC I was focusing on the music and forgetting about the headphones (except when I had to adjust them) but with the EP-630 I am focusing on the headphones and it seems that the music is coming from a place a little further away.

With that said I am spending another $15 for my lovely KSCs. After all I have 2 reserve clips now so if I lose one it won't be a problem.

Koss offers a life time warranty on the KSC75's...

I will check that out, I will see if I have still the receipt and the UPC. I don't think this is covered by the warranty though, it is clearly the users' fault.

I will check it once I go home, thanks!
