i'm POSITIVE that that's a cat wearing headphones in your avatar.

on another positive note: has anyone else noticed that this is turning out to be the "i love the 80s" olympics? first all those crazy 80s tunes in the opening ceremonies, and today Duran Duran performs live in torino!

i find it hilarious.

and for the record, i kinda like the design of the medals. they're very shiny, and much better than the puny, lumpy medals from salt lake city.

So we shouldn't have any opinion at all...because heaven forbid it might not agree with fewtch, Mr. Contrary himself.

I hope no real offense is taken there, it's just that... just because someone dislikes that this opinion or that opinions isn't all happy-happy, it doesn't make it any less valid. It's impossible to generalize like that, you have to pick apart the offending opinion(s) and argue them on their own merits.

So what do you not agree with specifically? I for one have never heard a positive arguement about the rules put forth by the ISU for amature skating... it doesn't mean there isn't a positive arguement for it though. Do you have one?

Of if not skating, any other complaint that is tough to agree with here? That's what the thread is for, tell us why we're right or wrong and we'll agree or not. It doesn't always have to be fights and thread-crapping.

Skeleton is so scary. Head on at 130 km/h...

Pluschenko is a monster and I'm glad he finally got the gold medal he deserved. The difference between him and the competition was really striking.

They should return hockey to non professionals or at least get the NHL out of it. Throwing a bunch of guys together with no practice is not fair to them or the sport. It is more a Gary Bettman marketing gimick that has failed. The NHL has enough issues without this distraction every 4 years. I think the games would be better served putting juniors and college kids out there and give them a few months together to gel as a team.

Yep. Same with ESPN when they show the US soccer team playing international friendlies or world cup qualifing games. They're biased also.
