Neither do viruses if you leave it off.

The point of UAC isn't to get prompted when doing things you know about, it's getting prompted when programs try to do things without you knowing about it.

I have installed Vista on 3 of my machines and have never had a single virus, trojan, or otherwise. These aren't exactly "office" computers either. The last time I had a virus was back with XP. If you're getting a virus with Vista, you're doing something wrong.

Is it really worth it to upgrade from Vista? I really don't see a reason. It's basically a fixed Vista, and although I don't like Vista, the business edition has run reasonably well on my Thinkpad.

It is not a "fixed Vista". It's got a pile of new features and upgrades, from the Superbar (a quantum leap in usability) to improved search capabilities to Homegroups to security upgrades....... quite a bit.
