Just saw first confirmation that USB audio is working with the new Microsoft 950/XL phones, so far tested with a Dragonfly and E17 (source: Windows Central). Thought I would start a thread so users can start comparing notes and building a body of knowledge for the community. I will probably have some time with a 950XL soon to do some tests.

Nice to see that the non-Android crowd can now get amongst it.

Do those DACs use the default Windows USB driver?

If so would you test for noise by turning the volume down to zero and listening with a pair of IEMs or closed headphones?

The noise is like a wub-wub sound and is bassy rather than high frequency.

I upgraded to Win 10 and noticed one of my cheap external DAC units has some noise issues using the default USB driver.

Like Android I would expect only those devices that do not require driver installation to work. I will certainly check for noise when I have the chance.
