The Beyerdynamic headphones are 250ohms and I was looking at the Topping TP30 Amp/DAC and I'm trying to find out if this amp can power a set of 250ohm headphones. Both the headphones and amp/DAC come very highly recommended and are very affordable. I have little experience in headphone amps and exterior DACs and I would like some basic information about choosing an amp capable of driving these headphones. Thank you, any advice would be very much appreciated. The headphones: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0011UB9CQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_n... The Amp/DAC: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005D7SKWK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_n... Ny help or suggestions would be completely appreciated, Thank You!
Beyer DT990 250-Ohm headphones are fairly easy to drive, my $27 FiiO E6 amp with the volume nearly maxed out, can drive 250-Ohm Beyer headphones. So I can't see a $95 DAC/Amp having a problem driving 250-Ohm headphones.
just to add up. Hope this can still be useful. Recently I got DT990 Pro, while waiting for my Topping A30, I had TP30 MK2. So I tried it on, and the DT990Pro is not loud enough, compare to Superlux HD668B in TP30 MK2 (Volume around 2 o'clock). I cranked the volume almost Max, DT990 Pro loudness not match to HD668B in TP30. Although DT990Pro onTP30 MK2 lack of loudness, but still manage to give Sound stage & clarity. Superb Can. When A30 arrived, the story became different, with Volume (12 o'Clock, Gain 9dB), DT990Pro already as same loud as HD668b with TP30.
