WiiM Streamers Mini and Pro

Wow, finally!!! I'm new to this scene, and for about a month, I've been trying to figure out how to get Amazon Music HD and Ultra HD into my DAC. And then I happened on this thread and bingo, it was just so simple that it boggles my mind.

In any case, I'm really digging the WiiM Mini. To me, the app it self is brilliant. Easy to understand, intuitive to use, and loaded with useful features (love the 10 band EQ). It was amazing how simple it was to setup, and it just sounds great. I can finally relax and enjoy the music : )

You can’t cast to anything, even echos, from the Amazon Music windows desktop app or browser - only the iOS and android Amazon Music apps support AlexaCast. You can however as I suggested earlier use the Android Subsystem for Windows and use the Android Amazon Music app from there.

All BlueOS devices support Amazon Music directly from their app. Bluesound Node and others.
Yes, and most if not all of those third party apps aren’t that great. The point being made here is that the WiiM Mini can uniquely be cast to from the Amazon Music app so has access, without restriction, to all the features of that app rather than relying on a less functional third party interface.

Good point and certainly one of valid use cases. However I always prefer to use mobile app only as controlling app, while the stream itself flows from the service to the end point (streamer) without going through the mobile phone. This is how Spotify connect, Tidal connect works. Or ROON architecture.

And AlexaCast which is what the Amazon Music app uses to cast to echos - and the WiiM Mini.

You can always install the Android Wiim app under the Android Subsystem for Windows till their native app matures
Very true, but I am a Mac user, and the app although I have an M1 will not function as other apps will in the sense of being able to run an iPhone app on desktop, it's one of the few music/streaming apps that doesn't function for me, it just crashes on startup.

Cheers!!
