It looks like we can't get this model in the U.S. outside of Harman's own online store.  Anyone here likes it or know where in the U.S. to get one?  I really love the vintage look of the mocha color.

There is a place on eBay that sells them, shipped from China, 50/50 chance they are not fakes.

eBay wants $199 for it.  That's more than retail.

As far as I can tell, they are no longer sold in North America
But Thomann over in Europe will ship them to the USA for $150 (113.00 Euro).

The AKG K240MKII is sold in the USA.

This site says, "Availability of this item:
shipment due to arrive on 09.03.2012"  That's a long time.

I ordered it from Harman this morning for $166 delivered.  A little more than Thomann. :frowning2:  Thanks for letting me know about them.

Wonder why the K242 HD was never popular in the USA? Always saw it sold on amazon for ridiculous prices. Sometimes as high as $300.
People kept claiming it used the same driver as the cheaper K240 Studio. Probably does, but the graphs are way different.

BTW the Beyer DT-880 pads fit on the AKG K240 Studio. Both Pleather and velour. DON'T steal them from your Beyer headphones because it stretches them out and ruins them!

how do they sound? i got the shure srh940 over these as the openess of the sound didnt really catch my attention. maybe i need to listen to better open ones. felt the mids and vocals were extremely distant. but very pleasant on all the notes and details. just not sure if the srh940 has enough bass for me though :p im noob to all this.
