Why is AKG K 240 MKii good enough for iPhone and K 272 not?

Hello

I'm looking for a new headphone. I keep getting fancy with the K 272 HD but read a lot about the iPhone 4 or 5 not being able to drive it correctly.
The K 240MKii should be fine believing several people on here. But the impedance (55 ohm) and the sensitivity (91 dB) are exactly the same.
What am I missing?

Thanks and a good 2013!

Yes, I've owned the K271 Mkii and it certainly sounds better on an amp than through a phone. I would assume the same goes for both the K240 Mkii and the K272HD.

Where did you read this? I'm going through several threads on the K240 variants and most are commenting on the need for an external amp.

Tnx Viralcow.

Looked several times now and am doubting myself if it was this forum or another. Argh. Am sure of at least two people
even suggesting the AKG K 240 mkii above some other headphones for use with iPhone. Today I also walked across the K 550.
Looking into that one a bit more now. Probably a better choice with an impedance of 32 ohm.
