Hi All,
I finally took the plunge into IEMs and picked up a pair of UE 18+ CSXs after trying out a pair locally. They sound amazing to me, however, they sound better over bluetooth than they do plugged into my phone. This goes against everything I've read.
Is it possible it's the Apple DAC? The best way i can describe it is that when plugged in it sounds a little flatter, with less shimmer, or definition. I was under the impression that using the cable should always sound substantially better than bluetooth.
I've been listening primarily to high resolution and mater recordings from Tidal. I'll admit I prefer to have slight eq adjustments dialed in through the UE bluetooth app that I can't do through the Tidal player (no eq) but the difference remains either way.
Sorry if this question has been answered before. I've done a lot of research on the iphone DAC with very conflicting answers and I don't have access to a different DAC, or amp, to test.
Many Thanks,
Drew
