Creating an atmosphere has nothing to do with how heavy the music is, nor what it is based on. There is a lot of electronic music that creates a brilliant atmosphere (like Burial or fennesz). It's just a sign that there has been more thought put in to the music then with other music.

I hate The Police. They come on the radio all the time and I have to change the station. The drummer is aight. Roxanne is aight. Other than that, I just dont get it. I thought maybe they would be better when I saw live them at Bonnaroo a few years ago. Not the case.
