To be honest, none of my other music sounds even remotely like Greeley Estates.

I don't have a particular affinity for metalcore/deathcore, but with Greeley there's something else there, a sort of emotional touch. I haven't heard Zimmerman's spine-chilling vocals paralleled to this day. "Blue Morning" scares me far more than any horror movie I've ever seen. x)

Nu Metal and Metalcore have their use as a bridge between the mainstream and metal, I would have never picked up death metal without slipknot / ffdp / devildriver and on towards "legit metal bands" from there. The thing is, a lot of people get stuck in the transition, so we end up with a million different metalcore bands that sound like greeley estates or a skylit drive or soilwork or atreyu, and a million different nu metal bands that sound like korn and limp bizkit.
