It's a B&O "acoustic cell". I am presuming this means "the bits that aren't shiny bling or dead crocodile". I don't have any experience with mid eighties b&o, but they have the potential to sound quite good, especially with all of that weight as acoustic damping... maybe...
I think for the money, you'd probably be better off with an orpheus... and a house to put it in...
I question the most beautiful headphone claim that the seller makes. Maybe an interesting conversation piece, but I think I would save some money and go for the Orpheus at that point, man that feels weird to say.

Single ended?!?!? What???
Those puppies are a candidate for a recable job if I've ever seen one! Maybe some Moon Audio Black Dragon balanced cables... plus they have those "so 70's" looking big loop coiled cords. Not working for me at all.
Oh, but now all of the skeptics will come raining in and telling me that I'd have to be NUTS to spend $300 to try to improve the sound of these headphones. It just would be an out of proportion expenditure for what theoretically cannot possibly make any difference!
