I don't wear glasses first off. Second, just wondering what exactly the bowls will do for the sound.

I've used the quarter modded hd414 pads before and loved them. It makes everything clearer, but you lose some bass. The pads cost ~$10, and I'd say it's worth it. I'll be buying another pair soon.

I am really starting to believe in burn in. I keep going thinking the sound on my sr80is is improving with each listen. I go to school with my Portas so I know its not just conditioning to one pair of cans. Uhm...

The AD2000 can be found for $350. One might still be in the FS forum, it was there several weeks ago.

I don't think you'll find anything else, I've looked for a long time and didn't find anything. Good luck though.

EDIT: have you tried the DT880? I didn't like it, but it's an alternative

I plan on getting the Schiit Asgard (maybe, possibly, who knows?) and I hear the DT880 has terrible synergy with it. DT990 maybe?

They sound better all-around IMO but I can't stand to wear them (glasses as well as ears small enough that I feel the plastic)
Unmodded 414 pads are def. the sweet spot for me

Edit: I also think the 414 pads sound better than the bowls, but my bowl experience may have been detracted from by discomfort

The 414s look insanely comfortable. I think I am going to order some in the next couple of weeks. I still want to give me ears some time to adjust to the stock comfies though. I find the stocks to be comfortable, but I just want to experiment with the sound I can get from these bad boys!

I disagree. The comfies are by a large margin the most comfortable pads. The HD414 pads use a (slightly) harder (thicker?) foam. I bought two pairs of 414 for me just in case, I'll mod one, and use the other to test out the balck dye I just bought.
