Not really a direct correlation here between slowed reaction times and the isolating effects of iems reducing sound in your environment. Not even sure how this is part of the discussion since the topic is iem's and driving.
Btw, I can also site studies that state using headsets does improve reaction time while driving so its a popular belief for a reason.
