The lyrics are very important to me. When you put a great composer and a great lyricist together you get magic. Bernie Taupin and Elton John come to mind.

"Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand"

And that makes sense?

Someone told me that Elton John would take lyrics that Bernie Taupin had written for him and switch them around to his own liking. I don't know if this is a case of that happening as these lyrics all center on a theme of music and dancing so they seem to be relative, but if the lyrics in Elton John's music ever seem out of sorts that's possibly the reason why.

Good lyrics and great music are wonderful together, swt61, Bernie Taupin and Elton John are indeed an excellent combination.
