Stax gear are noticeable cheaper in Japan than the rest of the world (especially Europe). Two downsides though:
* 100v input for the amplifier. So you need a voltage transformer, or modifying the amplifier.
* You only get 1 year warranty, and have to ship the gear back to Japan for repair.

May, or may not, be worth it. Depending on what you prefer.

I'm contemplating on whether to do that - sell the MK2 and get another MK1. I'll most likely make the decision after hearing both on the BHSE.

Part with the SR-007MK2 then, to recover money to buy an SR-007 (BL)...

I am 95% sure your wife will not notice a difference, especially if you buy an SR-007BL.

All this talk aside...as I listen to it now, the MK2 is a pretty darn good headphone.

The Mk2 is no slouch but it can be so much better.

They do work better with the 007t then the Mk1 which can be a plus for some.

So far the spring mod on the Mk2 is doing the trick for me, so I am delaying the bluetak mod since it was such a PITA to put the pads back on

Should I buy a set of Mk1 earpads just in case? They come with the spring right? Are they easier to re-install?

The springs are a part of the headphone so not included with the pads.
