thks but if consider the price sound quality ratio which is better

to me, id say dont let price be that much of a deciding factor. if your budget pushes you to the mini, then just get that.

I however have had a much better time with using the ipod video/classics/touch compared to the mini/shuffle

if you asked me, the price is worth it, but it may not be for you

i am just an undergraduate student and if i was awarded the second level scholarship ,i will have RMB700($100) and a new 8gb nano 4 is about RMB1200(about$180) in shanghai .thought i really want an ipod touch ,it just too
expensive for me(about $240 in shanghai).

i will consider the 5g (30gb about RMB 700, $100) it has bigger storage but still a little expensive

5G 30GB, it's what I have and it serves it's purpose well. If you want awesome sound quality without the interface or massive storage, a 1st Gen 1GB Shuffle will do the trick. Both can be had for a reasonable price <$100 30GB <$25 Shuffle. Bid away!

Off the subject, the new Samsung P3 32GB looks delicious, but not yet available in the states. I had a P2 and the is amazing along with the COWAN models.

screen is needed and at least 4gb , price <$50 is better

iPod's sound quality is very bad IMO. The sound on iPod is flat, you don't get the EQ option, and it has no bass at all...

If you're looking for sound quality, I definitely don't recommend iPod..

I know you've posted that the Sansa is hard to find but for your budget I'd really suggest a Sansa Clip. They sound very good from the Headphone Out and they have small screens where you can see music details. Old creatives are also ok. but I don't usually recommend the old models as I had some personal experiences on build quality specially those on the refurb market.

For Ipods. My personal preference would be the Ipod Video 5.x G which is warm thru the headphone out. I doubt you can get a Ipod Classic 6G based on your budget. But I find the headphone out is very clean on the CLassic if you want something more neutral. =)

You clearly haven't done much research have you? If you go to iTunes (Yes, I know. It's a burden, but it's worth it), you can make a custom EQ and transfer it to your ipod.
I think there is plenty of bass from the hp jack imo. I don't know how much bass exactly you want, but it's pretty decent with my headphones. Are you using ibuds? That might be the problem, but they still had a noticeable amount of bass.
If you're using line-out, the sound gets better, and you can use an amp that conforms to your taste.

EDIT: I just read your other posts. You're either an Apple hater or a troll. As much as I dislike apple, the sound quality doesn't flat out suck. It could use improvement, but what doesn't? And I don't really want to threadjack the 5800 thread, so I'll include this in your chastising (err, whatever you can call this): have you tried all Sony products? The PFR V1 has nice bass, but it is FAR from powerful. And fwir, same goes for the SA series and F1.
