Which of the 2 will you choose for HD650?

I can't comment on the MKV as I've never heard one, but I love my Compass with the 650's! I'd only been using a Heed Canamp being fed analog by an Audigy 2ZS before. Switching to the Compass was an amazing revelation. Mellow, transparent, detailed and drives the 650's with authority. Sadly Audio GD no longer makes the Compass.

^Thanks...

Yeah I am looking on a used Compass and a used LD MKV.

Just so confused which to get.

I know the compass have gotten good reviews serving as a dual purpose of DAC/AMP and Pre AMP, but how is the Headphone AMP particularly compared with the LD MKV, is the compass in par with the LD MKV?

I am leaning towards the MKV as of now since they are smaller in size.

Neither. The Fun A-mode + HDAM, then use it as a DAC for a better amp in the future. Without comparing, HD-6X0s sounded ok with a Compass, but as soon as one compares it to anything else, one realizes that they aren't being driven really well. The Fun (in A-mode form) is definitely an improvement, if possibly a bit inferior to the C2C or similar, which I consider a kind of minimum for decent results from those headphones.

Neither for a same reason as Currawong, but with different product though.
