Only 16 bits, a non oversampling dac, much lower than your costs limit, but in my own experience, a dac that kills any desire to ever upgrade, organically musical, holographic imaging, and detailed ....It is for me too much costlier to really beat it, except if you are in dsd, 24 bits etc....But almost all my files are 16 bits losless...Read about...

I think the Gustard X20U Pro (Dual Sebra 32 9038 chip) is a very good option for under 1K, with a great price to performance ratio.
