Hey everyone,

I am new to the forums so for starters: hey everyone

A few weeks back I got the Nokia N900 ( awesome phone buy the way) and I am now looking for a high end in-ear set for it. Currently I am using the UE metrofi 220.

I have made my mind up between two sets: the Sennheiser IE8 or the Ultimate Ears 700. Or do u guys think those two sets are kindda overkill for a phone? I listen to all kinds of music from Britt Nicole to Evanesence to Hardcore/ Hardstyle.

Hi and welcome

I don't have a N900, but the audio quality is said to be pretty good for a phone, therefore I don't think a good set of IEMs would be overkill. First thing that comes to mind, the IE8 is bassier than the UE700, but if you use forum search you will find a lot more info about both IEMs. For starters here's a comparison thread between these two.

To bring this thread back from the depths, personally I find that the IE8s sound great with the N900

Its the first time I have been able to listen to the Senns for a while, and it is a rewarding experience

Before you spend big bucks, have you tried Rockbox? A lot of adjustments for music.

How much noise does the headphone jack give you on the n900?

I am using a n95 and there is no way I can listen to music on that thing. When I plug in a headphone I hear quite a bit of static, and that is totally unacceptable. I wonder how the new nokia phones are doing on that respect.
