Hi chums!!

What headphones are strong and good quailty for my itouch?
my skullcandy headphones broke recently =[ so i need new headphones that will last a long time, but have good sound quality. Any ideas? Budget around 200 dollars

Lol many, many threads on this already.

What kind of music do you listen to? Is it mp3, wav etc? Do you plan on getting an amp and/or DAC any time soon? Will you use these outside of the house?

for that price there's only one pair of headphones I'd consider and that's the Sennehsier HD25-1 mkII headphones. they don't necessarily need an amp, very forward sounding, the bass is good but better with a headphone amp (don't need to go nuts).

Semi- portable, brilliant at home and i've had mine since 1997 and i'd never give them up!

^Agreed. FWIR the Sennheiser HD25-1 is nigh indestrucible. When I tried them out I really liked them. Great bass and overall sound and felt well built. If it wasn't for them being on ear I would've got them. It all depends on what music you listen to and if you can do open cans though. You might also read up on the Ultrasone HFI-780 or Pro 750.

HD 25 I II for sure... or ESW9. For an open alternative, try some Grados.

Unfortunately there are too many fake ESW9's around. Grado would be another good choice, but I find that unlike much of the Sennheiser range the HD25-1's are quite forward and will do fine without an amp, just like the Grado's.

I think you need headphones that are easier to drive. A few from Grados or Denons can be considered. From Grados SR60 is the best unamped. From the Denons, I assume D1001. However, If I were you I will try already D2000. You have a big budget-$200.

Just read the specs of d2000 and found it awesome...I guess i am buying it soon !

$200 is a very small budget lol, not big. Denon D2000 are actually quite difficult to drive, but nothing like a HD650 or K701.

i just ordered Denon D2000s from amazon for $237. but now i'm definitely going to need a headphone amp. i just hope i can find a perfect match for around $200.
