I am looking for a pair of headphones to compliment my LCD3's non fazor or to replace the LCD non fazor model to the newer fazor model. I am also looking at the possibility of the  Fostex TH-900's. I have an Auralic Taurus MK2 which I love with the older LCD3's but am looking for suggestions on an upgrade move.

There are reviews everywhere for the HD700, I have read 100's. Read the threads on HD700 on this site you will find plenty there for a starter. First I was going with the HD800 and after reading loads of reviews saying the HD700 are actually better it lots of aspects, I have read comparisons between the LCD-3, Bayerndynamic T1 (which don't seem the best quality build, cable is flimsy compared the Kevlar cable on the hd700) and many others and audiophiles are saying the HD700's are a winner, I hope this is the case as I just bought some and I studied very hard before making that decision :)

I hated the HD700s - tizzy and unbalanced to my ears, unrefined. I much preferred the older HD600 to them.

But the HD800s are a whole other ballgame. They would be engame in that price point (~$1500 USD). They have a very different type of sound than the Audeze's, so would make a nice contrast, complement. That would be my recommendation.

I liked the Fostex when I listened to them at the last meet, but not as much as I like the 800s.

I've heard the HD800's on the Taurus amp at the dealers and the soundstage was huge. I really liked them but I seem to remember really enjoying my  Denon  D7000's which is what makes me think perhaps the Fostex TH-900's.
