1. ms2i
2. 325i

I love my 225's but am thinking of getting another grado. I was thinking of getting either the ms2i or 325i. I loved my 80's and would like some of that top end they had but also want the punch of my 225's. I was hoping someone here that has heard both of these phones could point me in the right direction.

I didn't vote because I haven't heard the MS-2is. I do have the 325is and I love them. I have heard the 225s, though, and to me, the 225s and 325is shared 95% of their sounds. The 325is had a bit more bass and slightly more detail. I'm not sure if the jump would be worth $300. I would seriously consider going with one of the woodied Grados.

Ya, I would like a pair of rs2's but am unsure if the price jump would be worth it.

I voted for MS2i since when I bought it I was very happy with my MS-1 and had heard that although the MS2i is a tad brighter than MS-1 due to an extended top end over MS-1, the SR-325i is even brighter yet.

....well; that's what I READ anyway.

So, since I haven't heard SR-325i; I suspect my vote isn't all that relevant.

....but; the poll was "what would YOU choose." So I voted in that context only.

I'd go for the Allesandros, don't like the Grado house-sound a lot. So, I'd buy neither...

sort of from the same angle as f107plus5, I chose the MS2i for myself after I had owned the SR60 and liked the overall sound but thought I could do with a bit less brightness in stead of even more

and besides: gold looks bling-bling tacky while simple brushed aluminum looks industrial chique

I feel the same way. While I really enjoy my sr225 I find myself wondering about the benefits of an upgrade.

The RS2/RS1/MSPro price scares me off while the sr325i/MS2i weight scares me off. I am also uncertain as to whether the sr325i/MS2i is rally much of an improvement over my sr225.

I know this is a little off topic here, but what I did while wondering about the weight difference between MS-1 and MS2i was to add the weight difference between the 200gm MS-1 and the 300gm MS2i in the form of sockets added to the height adjusters. I used two methods: The sockets on the height adjusters in the "Uncle Martin" fashion, and the hanging under the housing in the "earing" style. Neither looked as though it was particularly "my" look, but they showed me that, for me anyway, the weight wasn't an issue.

Your ideas of fashion, style and utility, of course, may vary!

I vote MS2i even though I've never heard either. The MS2i looks way cooler, probably will have better resale, and if the 325i is bright for a grado that is going to be too bright IMO.

having owned both the sr225 and the sr325i, I feel that the 325i offer a very noticible imporvement of the sr255

after listening to the sr325i, I realize how bland the sr225 sounded. All of this is objective of course
