Entempo Spirit 20. Beefy player, crappy battery.

Currently got a Zen Touch 40g, almost full.

my old iRiver flash player laste 2.5 years, but I sold that.

my friends 3G iPod will be 3 years old in two months, and its still going strong. in order to prove this point, he dropped it in its silicone case from above his head, so higher than 5' 6", and nothing went wrong.

me, on the other hand, get bored with MP3 players and the longest one i had was 8 months.

My X5 seems like it's going strong, since the only thing that looks interesting is the Vision:M, but thats too much $$ for my blood.

Sharp IM-MT880 - 2 + years

It had it's flaws, but for its generation was the cream of the crop. I've since moved to a sharp DR80, but the DT880 still works like a charm. I've dropped it on rocks, in water, on pavement. I snowboarded with it for two seasons. I left it in my car overnight at -30 celcius plenty of times, and fired it up as soon as i started the engine without any protest. I've crashed my BMX with it in my pocket once or twice. The whole thing is metal, built to last, and sounds quite good.

I'm nicer to my DR80 though, it should last even longer.

IMO, it's the best dap on the market...even though it's 3 yrs old.

Which battery did you use, and where did you get it?

Yep. Mine will be four in June, still works like new, although I've had to do a do-it-yourself headphone jack fix, and I upgraded to a 40 GB HD. I still have the original Li-Ion batteries. I can't consider getting another player until somebody comes up with one that has dedicated line outs and infrared remote.

My old original Nomad jukebox (6 GB upgraded to 20) was given to my wife. Still works like new.

Same with me, just replaced the battery back in Oct. Bought my 3G back in May of 03, still use it 3-4hrs/day

My 20gb 2nd gen Dell DJ, although it has been used very little. The most durable DAP I've ever used would have to be the 15gb Dell DJ (1st gen). That thing went through hell, and still worked & looked like new. The interface hardware went bad (I don't know how :confused ), so it was sent back to Dell and I got a 2nd gen 20gb in exchange.

See ya

My Sony MZ-R55 Minidisc lasted me for 5 years. It's still works now and has an exalted place in the electronics draw in its pouch - not a scratch on it

Only reason it was retired was getting the iAudio...

I think the date of manufacture is late 2000.

I have crashed 2 IBM laptops in that time. Would have lost a BUNCH of tunes had it not been for that NJB1.

lol i forgot about my old jukebox. i had the same one and it was a trooper for a long time, and was even going strong when i got my 3G last year - sold it for a good price on ebay too, i guess it still held some allure.

i had a rio eigen that lasted about a year. I don't remember when i got it though.
After that, a Rio Carbon i still use since i think Jan 2003/4 (?). No major problems there, a couple of resets though.
Then last Christmas i got a 4gb nano which i still need to find a case for. I'm probably one of the few people who don't really like iTunes that much though.
