Should I pair the Musical Fidelity MX-DAC or the Audiolab M-DAC/M-DAC Plus with my BCL amp? Is there another combination that you guys would recommend? I'm going to drive a HD650 and hopefully an HD800S (when I upgrade). The source is a Sony Walkman WM1A.

Take a look at the JDS Labs EL DAC, they don't get a lot of love around here but are fantastic DACs for the price.

Many sub-$200 dollar DAC's won't sound terribly different according to plenty of people on this forum. I only have experience with the Modi 2 and E10k, but unless you're looking at more expensive options (Im unsure as to the price of the ones you mentioned), you should go with what has decent reviews and more importantly, has better hardware/connectivity/features/etc. Going off of what Oscar said, the EL Dac seems nice, as does the Modi Multibit, and the O2 ODAC
