I have a thing for organic, natural sound with nice midrange and resolution but without getting "in your face". Which DAC has these qualities and has synergy with CEC belt-drive transport (TL5100Z)? I'm thinking along the line of Ack Dack 1.3 NOS DAC but it's getting hard to find on the used market. Any other suggestions in the price range of $500-1000 used? Thanks!

One of the Audio-gd DACs, or a similar vintage Assemblage or Parasound DAC that uses the PCM1704UK would be my suggestions.

The qualities you're looking for are already provided by that belt drive. You should be happy with just about any dac IMO.
